International Day of Women and Girls in Science

Once again, the AZTERLAN Technology Centre and the Maristas Ibérica Schools celebrate the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, which aims to gain visibility and recognition for the work of women dedicated to STEAM careers (science, technology, engineering and mathematics). AZTERLAN mechanical testing specialist Naiara Bravo and student Mireya Rodríguez have shared their vision of science and the place of women and girls in this field.

On December 20th 2013, the United Nations General Assembly recognized that equal access and participation in science, technology and innovation for women and girls are essential to achieve gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls. In order to promote the participation of women and girls in the scientific and technological field and to recognize the key role that women play in the scientific and technological community, in its resolution of December 22nd 2015, declared February 11 as the International Day of Women and Girls in Science.
