Unai Garate (Director of the company MESHIND), has shared the presentation “Study of the corrosion behavior of CRA cladded high strength steel for offshore service” within the official program of this international work framework recently held in Berlin. The presented work is the result of the intensive research work carried out in collaboration with the AZTERLAN Metallurgy Research Centre and with the Basque Country University.
EUROCORR is an outstanding international meeting aimed at sharing experiences and technological advances related to corrosion protection.
The work shared by Mr. Garate focuses on the development of laser cladding technology applications for the Oil&Gas sector. The next advances with the technology LMD (Laser Metal Deposition) and EHLA (Extreme High Speed Laser Application) will allow to independently evaluate materials and processes, in relation to the main corrosion parameters, mainly to adjust the PREN (Pitting Resistant Equivalent Number) of hybrid coatings with nickel and iron base.
