IK4 coordinates a working session on Non Destructive Testing applied to the industry at CDTI headquarters (Madrid)

The free technical seminar, which will be held on May 30th. An outstanding program of contents will review the new capacities and applications of Non Destructive Testings. AEND (Spanish Association for Non-Destructive Testing), the Navantia company, several technological centers from the IK4 Research Alliance and the CDTI will be among the participants.

IK4 Research Alliance has organized a seminar focused on Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) under the title “NDT Technologies: current state and short term perspectives”. The seminar is intended for technicians and companies interested in learning about the latest technologies, applications and trends in Non Destructive Testing to optimize efficiency in industrial processes and to improve the companies’ competitiveness. It will be held on May 30th at CDTI headquarters in Madrid.

The investigation centers members of the Alliance IK4 AZTERLAN, CEIT, IDEKO, LORTEK and VICOMTECH will participate in the event through various presentations to share some of their experiences and advances in the field.

Mr. Carmelo Santamarina, IK4-AZTERLAN Metallurgical Research Center’s Non Destructive Testing Area Coordinator will share with the audience a presentation on Industrial Tomography applied to non-conventional components.

About Non Destructive Testing

More and more sectors and companies are getting interested in the rapidly evolving Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) field which keeps incorporating new technologies and developing new capabilities and applications. This evolution is motivated by increasingly demanding industrial needs in terms of product customization, quality and traceability, as well as the reduction of costs and manufacturing deadlines.

The incorporation of non-destructive testing methods in industrial processes entails significant cost and time savings. It also avoids supplying defective materials. In this sense, the concept “Zero Defect Manufacturing” is being imposed in the industry and is one of the lines included in advanced manufacturing.

This session is backed by the success of a previous event of similar characteristics that was held in Donostia-San Sebastián last November 2016.
