IK4-Azterlan is working on the FLANGEROUTE project as a part of a first-line research team for wind-power tower component manufacture.

Forjas Iraeta Heavy Industry, Gonvarri Eólica, IK4-Lortek and IK4-Azterlan innovate in the field of wind-power tower stiffening rings in the FLANGEROUTE project, financed by Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad (MINECO) in the frame of the RETOS-COLABORACIÓN 2016 program (Expediente RTC-2015-3720-3).

Wind energy market demands solutions for taller towers that support heavier generators and yield more power. The team for FLANGEROUTE answers this request by introducing new design concepts and developing new stiffening rings that can bear the increasing technical exigencies placed by tower builders. The objective of this project is transferring the results from the project into the market in three years time.
