IK4-AZTERLAN hosts the follow up meeting of the OCEANIC international project aimed at improving the performance and service life of the WECs (Wave Energy Converters).

On the 27th and 28th of September the follow-up working meeting of the OCEANIC project (“OCean Energy ANtifoulIng and Corrosion” has taken place on the premises of IK4-AZTERLAN and BIMEP.

The workshop has allowed to track the progress on theproject, which aims to develop a new anti-corrosion coating and antifouling properties.

In this context, the consortium views the project as a development opportunity with applications beyond the power of the waves, offering the possibility of building corrosion-antifouling solutions that can be extrapolated to other coastal applications.

With a budget over 1.064.000€ and 36 months of duration, the OCEANIC Project has been supported  by SWEA, SPRI(EVE5), CDTI, FCT through OCEANERA-NET (Ocean Energy European Research Area Network) under reference OCEANERA/0005/2014.oceaneranet.eu.
