HTSTEELS – Super-refractory stainless steels
Refractory stainless steels are commonly used in industrial equipment components subject to work environments at high temperatures and corrosion and in which they must withstand significant loads and wear. Its use is conditioned by two main factors: its service life, the main cause of failure being thermal fatigue, and the cost of raw materials.
In order to improve the performance of these steels, AZTERLAN has developed the HTSteels family of steels, a range of super-refractory stainless steels that offers greater resistance to creep, wear and corrosion, together with improved behavior regarding the growth of cracks.
- Improved response to hot work compared to common refractory steels.
- Superior values of resistance to deformation under constant loads at high temperatures.
- Deceleration of the rate of crack growth.
- Inclusion of Mo, Nb and W in its composition, without increasing the Ni contents that negatively affect the thermal conductivity of the material.
- Aging heat treatment to optimize carbide precipitation.
