The BAT (Best Available Techniques) reference documents, better known as BREF documents, bring together all the information related to the best available techniques for the prevention and control of environmental pollution by European industries.
After the publication in February 2024 of the draft of what will be the future BREF for Smitheries and Foundry industries and its entry into force scheduled for 2025, companies do already have the opportunity to start working on compliance with the requirements included in this document of great relevance.
In order to do so, it is essential to know the current state and starting point of each plant and its situation with respect to the requirements of the BREF. The Smitheries and Foundry industry BREF Diagnostic allows to identify particular objectives and specific areas to work on, along with a detailed action plan.
