Computerized axial tomography is a technique used at industrial level to detect, locate and measure internal defects in components made of ferrous and non-ferrous alloys, as well as to visualize inserts in dissimilar materials without destroying the assembly.
This test transforms the physical component into a virtual one (3D image built from sections) that can be worked on by using different tools, obtaining information on its soundness (dimensional characteristics of the defect, etc.).

The power of the equipment and the capacity of the reconstruction and evaluation software are two fundamental aspects of the test, since not every equipment offers the same analytical capabilities. The optimal selection of the power / image quality ratio is determined by the thickness of the part and the quality of the material to be inspected.
