The EU has set ambitious targets towards carbon-neutrality by 2050 ; for resource and energy-intensive industries, such as steel, iron or aluminum production, the energy transition represents a considerable shift in industrial processes. Three European-funded innovation projects – INITIATE, RETROFEED and REVamp – will present some of their solutions for reduced footprint and greater circularity in the metal-making industry.
